SlotsintheCity.com EXCLUSIVE First Preview!
We’re very pleased to bring you exclusive pre-production shots of the mean-looking 2014 Bentley Continental GT3 racer from The Area71 Slotcars. Seems that company owner Marco Rizzi has been a very busy boy of late – and this release marks an interesting move for his business, being the first release they’ll offer that’s already being produced by another brand – however, The Area71 Slotcars’ Conti GT3 represents a much lighter and more race-oriented beast than those already on the market, the aim being to establish them in National 1:32 GT3 championships around the world.
Bentley raised a few eyebrows when they launched the Continental GT3 concept. Based on the GT Speed road car, the GT3 was developed by Brian Gush, the man in charge of the 2003 24 Hours of Le Mans winning Bentley Speed 8, and was the first Continental to not feature four-wheel drive.
Like all The Area71 Slotcars models, the 1:32 Conti GT3 will be manufactured using advanced 3DP technology – all the features, including those intricate front ducts and bonnet vents are being faithfully reproduced with none of the compromises associated with conventional injected-moulded plastic production. Another advantage is that the weight of even this ‘stately’ Bentley body is a mere 18gr. with all parts installed, including the cockpit.
The version presented here is a prototype, printed to test structural features and on-track performance – the definitive production model will feature light housings with crystal-clear covers laser cut from the same lightweight acetate material as the windows, while that famous Bentley nose will receive a traditional vertical bar and wire mesh grille. The finishing process just gets better and better with each The Area71 Slotcars release, too – lending smoother surfaces and cleaner, sharper lines to the final model.
The Area71 Slotcars Bentley Continental GT3 will be manufactured as a kit with a limited run of just 300 units; 150 units with a SW/IL Slot.it-compatible chassis, and 150 units with an AW NSR-compatible chassis. Owners choose to equip their car with either Slot.it or NSR parts and receive the appropriate chassis, leaving them free to fit their preferred components and spec a car to their exact requirements. Taking full advantage of the 3DP manufacturing process, every body and chassis will be individually marked with matching serial numbers.

This stunning model is just the first GT3 racer The Area71 Slotcars will release! Many other GT3 models are currently under development, building over time into a range of fine, exotic modern racing cars. This range is a further evolution of their other models, allowing them to push the limits of the material and production technique to create new standards of slot racing model.
TA71S intends to maximise the benefits of their production technique to produce further models also as-yet unreleased by the larger, more mainstream manufacturers – if you’ve a burning desire for a particular car to be built, there’s a very good chance that it will appeal to Marco’s petrol-headed nature – don’t hold back with your suggestions, your car could be next!
